I picked up my new Sportback (with HDD 3G MMI) yesterday and the Nav/Firmware versions are as pictured. Doesn't look as though you got the latest Andy. REB Interesting, your Map version appears higher than mine.
But the problem is we arent 100% sure what that actually means. Normally of course we would just 'assume' a higher version number is a newer map version but maybe its based on car model? (long shot I know) Its annoying as my house is on a patch of grass (new build house) as the map isnt new enough to contain the new roads. I cant set a 'home' up as a result:(. Wonder if its worth challenging the dealer to check on a map update?
Mulski - Indeed, Map update is separate to the SatNav 'Fix' unfortunately. Interesting C99, how do you know new maps are available from 8/11/2010? Is it always then? I'm going to pester the dealer to see if they can find out more on the MAP Database versions. Thanks for everyones input.
Cheers Andy Nemo78 3rd November 2010 03:00 PM. Got the MMI/Satnav update - seems to have cured the TURN LEFT NOW syndrome - but further investigation required to fully confirm! By the by - the dealer also checked the noise in the doors(again) this time the tech took a companion for a drive round with the door cards off - the consensus was the wiring loom to the sub woofer(?) in the door (1' circular speaker in the triangular part right at the front of the door) they have re-routed and secured the cables and 'say' the problem is solved - we'll see The update seems to have removed my lock/unlock beep and needle sweep, voice activation still ok TobyAnscombe 6th November 2010 01:43 AM. Chaps - I have the same version of SW as Andy had going into this and have been looking into updating the software. I seem to have aquired a copy of the Audi_MMI_5570_3cd_set_4L0.998.961 which according to other forums seems to have worked to update the software - the weird thing is they all seem to have a SW version for all sorts (like bluetooth, amp, B&O etc) whereas I just have a single software version as show. So, do I burn these ISO's and try? (or copy them to a SD card!).
Bear in mind that I dont have a VAGCOM cable (yet!) so if it goes wrong its a trip to a dealer. Fred44nl 6th November 2010 02:25 AM. Those CDs are for MMI 2G - is that what you have? TobyAnscombe 6th November 2010 07:18 AM. Andy - be very interested to know if you can get the update for free, though I rather doubt it. Hi Mate, I emailed my dealer today (the Service Dept) and asked about an update on the maps. He called me back a few hours later and said yep, there is an update but it will be £150 +Vat if I want it.
