I am approximately two inches away from the mic, within the cardioid shape, and yet I sound quiet and probably worse than something that could come from my phone. I can raise my voice into the microphone and it's still not good enough. I've owned this mic for several months now but still cannot figure out how to get the right sound out of it. If I turn up the sensitivity too high, then my audio starts to have cracks in it. Plus there's a TON of white noise. I guess it's just a bad mic?
What do you guys think? So many variables. Is your recording area sound treated? Do you use any compression?
